London Office Guide

A Message from the Publisher

Welcome to the London Office Guide.

Before you start your search for new offices make sure you read the market updates for the City, Midtown and West End. Rupert Cowling, of E A Shaw, has updated his article on the Southbank which is a fringe City market that has dramatically changed recently and become a popular office location. Also make sure you read the other editorial articles. Know more about what to expect in the way of incentives by reading the updated article by Charles Henriques of REM Roberts. The more you know about business rates, service charges, legal issues and fitting out cost the greater your chances of making the right office space decision.

The Office Guide is an important and useful reference source for anyone with an office space requirement in London. We would like to stress, however, that it is always important to get professional advice. We strongly recommend that you discuss your requirement with an agent who specializes in the area where you would like to have an office. Contact an agent whose ad appears in the office directory or in the agent directory.
Welcome to the spring edition of the LOG.

The new year is starting out with a lot of uncertainty. It is pretty much acknowledged now that Europe and the UK are experiencing another recession. The feared double dip! It is expected to be short and shallow but no one knows for sure. With all this economic uncertainty you would have expected the central London office markets to have softened up and rents to be falling. This, however, is not the case. Granted, there is less demand, but there is even less supply. Especially in the West End. Rents are firm or rising and incentives are coming down. This is still not a good time to be looking for office space in central London.
